Wheatpasting 101

Locate some places in your neighborhood and city where you could put up the work. Boarded up buildings, light posts, etc.
Print these images. The larger the better to make a visual impact on the street. We recommend at least 18 x 24 but, if you only have access to an 8.5 x 11 printer, that’s fine too. Just print a lot!
Make wheat paste. We’ve provided some videos that show how to make it. It’s easy. You can also purchase wallpaper glue from most hardware stores, and it works just as well.
Grab some friends, grab your paper, wheat paste, brushes, and go out and wheat paste. Photo your work and use the hashtag #blkpaper2020 so that we can find them and share.

Putting up art on a building without permission is not legal, and we do not encourage illegal activity and can’t be held responsible for any illegal activity. We especially do not want to put any person, especially Black and Brown people, in any position to be confronted by the police. So if you choose to participate, please be careful and understand the risks.

Open your PDF in Acrobat and go to Print (Command–P). Don’t have Acrobat? No problem. It’s free Just go here.
Select Poster and change Tile Scale to 200% or greater. (You can view how many pages this will print above the thumbnail image and can adjust as you prefer.)
Print. Go grab your stack from the printer.
Hang up your poster. Go to the top of this page and read Wheatpasting 101.
